How much does creative team building cost? There is no price list: the price is made of people, duration, the materials participants take home, venue, day, number of facilitators and food. For orientation, the public workshops in the Handsome catalogue cost roughly 25 to 80 euro per person (September 2026), while a private corporate format is a custom quote. Here is how to read one line by line.

The seven items that make up the price

The price depends on seven variables, weighed differently by every supplier. A serious quote makes each one readable.

• People. Materials scale in proportion, everything else in steps: past a threshold you need a second facilitator, more stations or two sessions.
• Duration. A typical creative workshop runs two to three hours; the corporate format is agreed in the proposal.
• Materials that stay. Clay, leather, wood, glass, yarn: every person takes home an object, and that object has a real cost. Firing or a second step means a later delivery.
• Venue. In the Maker's studio you pay for an equipped space; at your premises you pay for transporting tools and materials, set-up and take-down. Kilns stay in the studio; wheels travel only if the Maker has portable ones.
• Day and time. A Saturday or an evening can cost more than a Tuesday afternoon: the Maker closes to the public or gives up a scheduled workshop.
• Facilitators. Past a certain number of people a second pair of hands is needed, so individual feedback does not disappear. Each extra facilitator is a line item, not something buried in the total.
• Food and extras. Aperitivo, lunch, gadgets, a photographer: legitimate items, but keep them separate from the workshop, or you cannot see what the experience itself costs.

How to read a quote: all-inclusive or with extras

Start from one question: is this the final figure? If the answer is not a flat yes, something is missing. Ask about these items first:

• VAT: is the figure net or gross? A per-person price with no note is often net.
• Travel: if the Maker comes to you, are mileage, van and travel time included?
• Materials: included for the number stated? And for people who do not show up?
• Space: if an external room is needed, who finds it and who pays?
• Firing and delivery: for ceramics and glass the pieces arrive later. Is delivery to the office included?
• Final headcount: by when must it be confirmed, and what changes if there are more or fewer people?
• Cancellation: what is still due if you move or cancel the date, and with what notice.
• Invoices: how many will arrive, from whom, with what description.

How much creative team building costs compared with a public workshop

You pay for exclusivity, not a seat: in a public workshop you buy a seat on a date set by the Maker; in team building you buy a date, a space and a facilitator dedicated to your group, with a custom quote.

Deposit and balance: how payment works on Handsome

On Handsome team building has one all-inclusive figure for the group, split in two: a deposit paid online to Handsome, its share for the organisation service, and a balance paid to the Maker, who invoices the company directly.

1. You fill in the request: people, indicative budget per person, city, your possible dates, type of experience and goal. The request is not binding.
2. Within 24 hours we get back to you. The tailored proposal names the chosen Maker and the group total, split into deposit and balance. The Maker sets their own price; Handsome's service is inside the total, not added later.
3. You confirm with your Italian VAT number and SDI e-invoicing code (or PEC) and pay the deposit online: Handsome sends you the electronic invoice, as an event organisation and booking service. The date is locked.
4. You pay the balance to the Maker, who invoices the company for the service. Two invoices, one figure known from the start.
5. On the day the Maker runs the session; if anything changes beforehand, you still have one point of contact.

How to ask for comparable quotes: the checklist

Quotes are only comparable if they answer the same brief. Fix these ten points and send them, identical, to every supplier.

1. People as a range (for example 18-22) and the date by which you confirm the final headcount.
2. At least two dates and the time slot: morning, afternoon or evening change price and availability.
3. Duration and the real start and end time, welcome and wrap-up included.
4. Venue: your premises (floor space, tables, water, sockets, loading access) or the Maker's studio.
5. Goal: team building, onboarding, client event, gift, celebration or creative training. It changes the format, not just the tone.
6. What each person takes home, and whether it can arrive later (firing, drying).
7. Special needs: accessibility, diets, people who do not speak Italian.
8. Indicative budget per person: it gets you a realistic proposal on the first round.
9. Food yes or no, and who organises it.
10. Billing details: company name, VAT number, SDI code or PEC, and how many invoices you expect.

Welfare and deductibility: what to ask your accountant

Tax treatment depends on how the company classifies the expense, and it changes case by case.

In Italy, for services offered to employees without counting as their income, the reference until 31 December 2026 is article 51 of the TUIR; from 1 January 2027 that article is repealed and the matter moves to the new Consolidated Income Tax Act (Legislative Decree 117/2026). The right price is not the lowest one

The lowest quote is often the one with the fewest items written down, not the most efficient. The useful question is what you buy with the difference.

Context matters: according to Gallup's State of the Global Workplace 2026, global employee engagement fell to 20% in 2025. An afternoon with your hands in clay does not change that number on its own.
