Handsome is a marketplace for real, in-person artisan workshops. This page explains, transparently, what is real on the platform and where we use images created with artificial intelligence, in line with the transparency requirements of European regulation.

1. What is real

The Makers on Handsome are real people, and their profiles are reviewed by our team before publication. The workshops are live experiences, run in person. The photos of studios, of the work and of the experiences are uploaded directly by the Makers. Reviews are verified — only people who actually attended a workshop can leave one. Payments are handled securely through Stripe.

2. AI-generated illustrative images

Some illustrative images on the site — in particular blog article covers and some promotional images (for example gift card visuals) — are currently created with artificial intelligence. These images carry a small "AI" label. This is a temporary choice: we are progressively replacing them with real photography of artisans and their work. Photos of Makers, studios and workshops are not AI-generated.

3. Text content

Some editorial content, such as blog articles, is drafted with the help of artificial intelligence and then reviewed by our editorial team, which retains responsibility for it. Information about individual workshops and profile content is provided by the Makers.

4. How to recognise AI content

AI-generated images show a small "AI" label in the corner. You can consult this page at any time to understand which types of content are involved.

5. Our commitment

We are committed to progressively replacing AI-generated images with real photography of artisans and their experiences. We update this page as that process advances.

6. Regulatory note & contact
